Adding to its creative bench strength, Mindsailing recently hired Lucas MacMillan as a copywriter to support its agriculture and energy practices. Lucas will lead content development for clients navigating changing industries in search of new opportunities.
“Day to day, our core focus is helping clients build a growth mindset, often through resilience and adaption,” explains Heather Saucier, Mindsailing’s Chief Innovation Officer. “Lucas complements this thinking through his narrative approach to problem-solving. He understands the balance good creative needs to strike between information and inspiration.”
Before joining Mindsailing, Lucas worked at The Lacek Group, crafting materials to support Home Depot’s rewards program for contractors and other trade professionals. He also spent time at Wunderman developing creative for Best Buy’s Rewards Zone program, as well as time at the Integer Group working on Michelin and the Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau. Through each of these engagements, Lucas has relied on a background in research and journalism to bring a discerning eye to client challenges.
“In the short time I’ve been at Mindsailing, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed contributing to the strategic reasoning behind the creative,” said MacMillan. “It’s refreshing to be part of a team that operates as strategic partners.”
Born and raised in Chaska, Lucas studied at Drake University where also he worked at City View, the alternative weekly in Des Moines. A fan of the written word in all formats, Lucas is a supporter of the literary community in the Twin Cities, regularly attending poetry readings at local spots like Hamline University.
